PS for English Lit

I am writing my personal statement for English lit atm and my top priority universities which I would like to be offered places at are Newcastle and Edinburgh. However, I have noticed and heard from people that these (especially Edinburgh) often reject the candidates even if their predicted grades meet the requirements, so I suspect they take the PS very seriously :/ I really want to get offers there so I was hoping if anyone that is doing (or has been doing) English lit at either Newcastle or Edinburgh or anyone that has been offered a place at either of these when they were applying would be willing to share their PS with me so that I know what they are looking for?
