Should I take Thinking Skills?

Hi all! Just wanna ask if I should do Thinking Skills (Critical Thinking) at A-levels? The exam board at my school is CIE. Can I still hope to achieve an A* if I self study it? My school doesn't offer it but I really wanna do it cause I downloaded its past exam papers and it seemed very interesting. I'll be taking it as a fourth A-level. Thanks

My personal opinion, having done this for a year at AS I wouldn't bother. Although uni's do see it as a skill, they don't take it into account as one of your entry grades and I really didn't find it interesting. I was with OCR.
However, as you are only doing 3 a levels otherwise it may look good to do a fourth to show uni's you have potential, also it requires FAR less work that other A-levels ... we only did it for 40 mins a week (as a gifted and talented programme)
Maybe I would recommend it as an AS but as a full A-level I really wouldn't waste time and energy on it.
Sorry my reply is a bit vague, just trying to show you a balanced view x

It requires less study huh? Even better, as I'll have to study it on my own  thanks for your reply, really appreciate it.

Yes definitely!! I probably only spent 20 hrs TOTAL on it :P no prob! But as I say I only know this from my own experience in ocr for AS, it might not be the same at A2 or with other exam boards x
