I've never seen any in Durham, but there is a large muslim community in the outskirts of Newcastle. (An (asian) friend and I went around a number of shops there looking for an outfit so he could be "Mr. Bollywood" for an ent.)

I think that any college is probably bound to be able to provide for halal (or kosher) diets, under some discrimination act or something. If you asked whichever college you go to, I'm sure they'd find a room that you could use as a prayer room (either that or they'll have a nondenominational chapel).

or go self catering like me and join Josephine Butler college:smile:. my dietary requirements was one of the factors for the switch, i'm not sure about other facilities, but there will probably be some sort of community, if not you'll have me , if i make the offer :frown:
