how does the intensity of light passing through the same hole (of size greater than that of its wavelength) vary with frequency? - i.e. if the hole is of size 2 , how does the tranmission change for light of wavelengths 2 and less.

ok, sorry...my discription was terrible... i will try again...
a broad band, plane wave of light is directed through a small hole - what is the spectrum of the light on the other side of the hole? Is the power equally distributed in all frequencies with wavelengths greater than the size of the hole?

Basically I think the question is about diffraction. At the other end of the hole you will get a series of maxima due to constructive interference and minima which arise from destructive inteference. The intensities of the peaks will not be the same, however, and you will find peaks with greater intensity nearer the hole.
