Does it look strange when a girl is much taller than her boyfriend?

Does it look strange when a girl is much taller than her boyfriend? The concept doesn't bother me personally but I hear a lot being made out of it in celeb magazines, even if a girl is slightly taller than her boyfriend. For example take tennis player Caroline Wozniacki (5'9.5 and Rory McIlory 5'8.5). Rory is about an inch shorter, so together in regular shoes, they look like this:

But when in heels it looks like this...

Do images like that put a lot of women off from 'minature boyfriends'. :biggrin:

Lets put things into perspective here, Rory is near average male height and isn't desperately short (about my height! :eek:

)

Do you think being the golf world number 2 helps overcome that in her decision a little? :biggrin:

I guess it looks a little strange in that it's not that common a sight, and you sort of *expect* the boy to be taller than the girl.

But it's not strange in a bad way. Just a little unusual I'd say. Nothing wrong with it though.

Personally I don't think there is anything wrong with going out with a guy shorter than you - not that I have done it myself though (although I'm quite short at 5 foot 2, so I don't usually meet men shorter than me - though I have met one or two cute guys who were my height and were in happy relationships - and if I liked them and vice versa I wouldn't say no on the basis of height).

Anyway, I think it can be surprising to see a girl with a shorter boyfriend, but it isn't entirely uncommon, and if anything it is refreshing. :smile:

In reality no not at all as it's only a couple of inches.
However, in todays society and media there are a lot of people who frown upon this and make horrible comments which is quite sad.

I fail to see how it is strange a girl can be taller than a guy in a relationship, I have been out with a taller girl and I know a few guys who have girlfriends taller than them.

But in that example 5'9 is very tall for a girl, and she should probably avoid wearing heels when around him.

I guess the reasoning would be that women do not want to go out with shorter men, ergo in order to go out with a short man she must have exceptionally low standards. Slutty.
