here:

Climate changes can affect the skin. It is often thought that because of skin colour Black people cannot get sunburnt. Black people can and do frequently suffer from sunburn if exposed to the sun for long periods.

Sun protection creams should be used to protect against sunburn. For babies and young children use a high factor sun cream.

I'm black and use an SPF sunscreen. Although because i'm black I'm more than a fair-skinned person it's still better to be safe than sorry. I still manage to tan so I just consider it better to use it than not to.

if you look to the right of that page then there are video reports for you to watch..it talks about asian skin not black though....but it does suggest that asians NEED sunshine to keep them healthy....there are lots of other links ther..have a brouse

like the report says, i think you dont have to worry so much, applying suncream is more about anti aging then it is about skin cancer for you..id say dab a bit of cream on your nose the top of your cheeks and your shoulders...since they are most exposed..but i recon you wouldnt have to go all out like us white weaklings :P
