Celebrity Ideology

I was watching Question Time with Russel Brand on the panel and he got very animated demanding that the rich and powerful pay more tax and it made me contemplate the issue, especially after then when jokingly asked by Boris J if he would make a voluntary contribution to gov. he declined immediately.

So it left me wondering given the overwhelming majority of celebrities follow leftist- agendas and support either the Labour Party or the Democrats in the USA if they follow a party, why do so many hypocritically fail to in practice follow out such agendas. Many many avoid tax when possible, they all live amazing lifestyles with perhaps 1% of their income going to charity foundations which serve as vanity organisations to further their own ego and career (usually named after themselves and involving luxury charity balls), or in extreme cases such as Madonna's; hunting down poor children from African countries she couldn't even name to garner praise from all her celebrity pals for her noble philantrophy.

It just sickens me that this obvious champagne socialism goes relatively unchecked and we don't hold these greedy fools to ransom for their selfishness. If they want to act that way, they shouldn't try and claim they follow such quasi-socialist publicity agendas. The media however just accepts it and so do we the public.

Thoughts?
Russell Brand is an exception. He may come across as a bit of eccentric etc but he's a really nice person. The things he's done for his fans over the years is fantastic. He's also not afraid to speak his mind as he did on Question Time. Within this though he's down to earth. I think he knows that he got lucky. He wasn't born into wealth and respects that.

Other celebrities aren't the same and comic relief is a fantastic example of this. Comic relief in principle is a great idea, but it doesn't work. If it did there would be no need to it. You've got celebrities on TV crying about all the scenario's that they encounter and encouraging the poor to give the money. If they gave a fraction of their wealth they could solve all of this a lot quicker than us put together. Comic relief absolutely sickens me. It's nothing but a publicity stunt for celebrities now. I've given to charity, I've raised money for charity. This totals barely £1000. Some footballers earn £250,000 a week.. If they gave a very small portion of that he'd be helping.

I respect celebrities who have money if they've earned it and use it wisely.

They're all self-publicists and populists, and speak out when it's convenient. None of them actually care about this sort of thing, least of all Russell Brand.

apparently "too much money aint enough money" - lil wayne (whos actually been told off for tax invasion)
if u live that material lifestyle i kinda get it
millions sound like ALOT but when ur caught up in expensive cars , houses , designer bags , security , staff ect.. a million wont buy u as much as u would think the average celeb house is about £10mil - but u can get them more/less money
they make millions and then have the government trying to take it off them to give to people on welfare alot of the time , people on welfare which celebs have often viewed growing up and who could have gotten jobs if they wanted too
now they have the money to live that flashy lifestyle they wanna live it up make as much as they can keep as much as they can....

alot of celebs DO give to charity not everyone goes public like angelina i saw a website once that had written down what celebs gave what to what charitys which i belive was acurate also they may sign checks anonymously obviously not everyone does but alot d i remeber some who haddnt seemed to have given much but there were some who had who u may not expect to have
