I'm not opposed to the death penalty in principle for the most serious crimes, however our current criminal justice system is too flawed for it to be applied. There are too many miscarriages of justice where people are freed after spending years in prison for crimes they did not commit - what if they had been executed? The system is just too fallible.

I don't think the death penalty is ever justifide even in cases of genocide. I do however think that for premeditated murder life should mean life.
