Med people help

Anyone know if there is any medicine that can be prescribed for lack of concentration? I really really think my concentration is really bad and I forget things all the time and I feel as if it's ruining my life and my A levels.

Please help, is there a medical cure? I just want to see if it could possibly be something worth going to see the doctor about before I waste any more of his time.

yes there is. i forget what its called. although i wouldn't advise it it has alot of side effects

Also are there any over the counter medicines if I really do not want to see my doctor?

Drugs are not always the best way to go about these things. Your lack of concentration may be due to other things like lack of sleep, poor diet etc. Go see a doctor.

Try some Omega 3 with fish oils. It has been shown to improve concentration in some studies.

best fix for poor conc is sleep unfortunately!

That would probably take a long time.

Obviously, a caffeine influx in the body will increase concentration. Caffiene is contained in the following products such as coffee, tea, proplus (50mg in 1 pill) and ... red bull (lol!)

Otherwise ginkgo biloba herbs / tablet form.

Other then the drugs, I recommend exercise and breaks.

If you need to concetrate during an exam, try glucose sweets (like those Lucozade tablets), caffeine tablets and/or chewing gum. But bear in mind these are SHORT TERM solutions. You may have underlying problems that need to be dealt with.

Also, bear in mind the above caffeine solutions tend to also make you more easily distracted...if you're having problems concentrating that's probably not a good thing :smile:
