When is Simpson's Rule taught?

I did Edexcel A Level maths and further maths.

Simpson's Rule is not covered in any of Core 1-4, or Further Pure 1-3

So I assume it will be covered during early stages of my Natural Sciences course?

I have a degree in Physics, and have never learnt Simpson's rule.
It's down to individual unis to choose exactly what they teach. Some will, some won't.

A quick google search suggests that OCR teach it in C3.

Simpson's rule is invaluable if you are writing a computer program to calculate a definite integral for a bespoke application - such as in engineering for instance.

It's unlikely you will need to cover this in a natural science course.

For me it was in AQA C3, I haven't used it since. However, studying a degree in Physics will inevitably mean I will need to do some numerical integration at some point, in which case I imagine I'll be digging out my C3 notes again
