why not get a desk fan? Not particularly expensive and so long as you use a paperweight they're pretty good.

I find a carefully worded note sellotaped on the door handle will prevent the embarrassment of them walking in.

Um, fans are the best solution. You could also get one of those air cleaner things, which helps to remove the humidity from the air. That's my biggest problem. When I get more money, I'll get one for my room!

Meh... I get up before them in the morning.

Reply 11

My biggest problem is that when it's so hot and sunny outside I don't want to be indoors working! And I can't do my work outside, because trying to write on white paper that reflects the sun straight into your eyes HURTS :p:

How is the heat too much? Where do you live? I'm in southern Spain and finding it alright to study and sleep. Are you sleeping under a massive duvet with pyjamas on?

Reply 13

I thought I was the only one with this problem

My bedroom is like an oven and even though I leave my windows open all day, as soon as i close them at night it's just boiling, can't leave windows open because my rooms at the front of the house -_-

Also my fan is REALLY old and it just doesnt cool anything much.

As a result I went into Biology exam on Tuesday on 4 hours sleep, Chemistry yesterday on 2 hours sleep  and Maths today on 5 hours sleep :frown: I can't even concentrate anymore and I find it hard to nap usually

If you've always lived there then it won't affect you because that's what you're sued to. In Britain where the weather changes all the time and rarely stays hot for long, it's hard to get used to. :eviltongu

The problem with dehumidifiers, though, I reckon, is that they do just suck ALL the moisture out of the air. You wake up feeling all crusty-eyed and with a dry mouth, which I hate. I have spent some time trying to make my room *more* humid.

meh same here hence I am sleeping in my mum's room while she's away cos its much cooler! & my radiator is stuck on really high atm the british gas guys are idiots! I wasnt living here when my parents got the new boiler so she asked them to switch my radiator off, when I moved back I noticed it was really hot and told my mum who was like wtf! and the little white thingy that Im meant to turn to switch it off wont budge cos they a) turned it the wrong direction so its on not off and b) turned it too tight grr men! lol ok rant over but it is soo hot I had to go take a nap earlier!!

Sleep in freezer, sleep in a very shallow bath, oh and sleep naked. And if your comp is in your room, shut it down early or move it. Mine is currently moving 31.5 degree air round my room

try sleeping without a pillow. it sounds wierd but it helps loads.
