1. They are complementary, ie one can fit in to the other.

2. Both a key and a lock have certain shapes that are complementary to each other like a substrate, here hydrogen peroxide, and the enzyme.

3. Other chemicals are unable to fit in to the active site of the enzyme as they have different shapes to hydrogen peroxide so can not fit in to the site to react.

4. a) Hydrogen Peroxide, active site, water and oxygen, water and oxygen again, active site.

4. b) This is because the enzyme is a catalyst and is therefore recycled back to the start of the reaction chemically unchanged.

5. The rate of reaction should decrease as the change in pH cause the shape of the active site to change so that it is no longer complementary to the substrate so the substrate will not enter the active site and therefore will not react. Without the catalyst the rate at which the reaction occurs will decease.
