Burnt Hand

the other day i burned my hand on the top of my oven getting food out. it hurt a bit at the time but i kept it under cold water for a while, and its a bit scabby, but the skin has cracked a bit given where i burned it on the knuckle, so when my fingers move (ie clenching a fist or typing) its put under strain. I know you're not supposed to put lotions on burns so what can i do to stop it getting infected? i've been trying not to get it too wet now its healing but thats proving difficult!

You know what they say...If you cant take the heat, get outta the kitchen!

I think you should see the doc

I wouldn't see a doctor over a burn tbh, it should heal itself. Don't put plasters or anything on, the best thing is if you leave it "open" as it were, so it doesn't sweat or anything like that. It should heal itself after a while. If it hurts, try to limit how much you use that hand. That'll make the process quicker.

I burned my finger on the oven and its healing fine on its own, didn't put anything on it, not even a plaster.
