Senior Prefect Application Letter

Hi, I just wrote this letter to apply for the role of a Senior Prefect at my school. I am in Year 10.

Please check it out and give me some points to improve, if you can. THANKS A LOT!

I am writing to apply for the position of a Senior Prefect at ''school''.
However, before I commence to write about the main topic of the letter, I would like to take the time and thank you, and the leadership team, for allowing me to become a prefect, and giving me the chance to grasp the role of a responsible pupil at this school. I feel honoured by the trust you have towards me, in meeting the expectations of this role.
Since I have been accepted to become a prefect, I do not think that I should stop here. I always like to challenge myself and set goals and targets which may seem ridiculous and impossible to some. However, I motivate myself and always work hard towards achieving those targets. For example, when I came to this school in year 7, I always thought about becoming one of the best student in our year not only academically, but to also be humble and down to earth, so that everyone can feel like they can talk to me about anything. Although not fully, I feel like I have achieved this aim of mine, however, I do not believe I have achieved all of it. Therefore, what I want to do now is to challenge myself even more, and try to achieve an outstanding academic progress in year 11 while also contributing towards the prefect team through dedication and determination.
Furthermore, I would like to use this opportunity to show my gratefulness towards the pupils and the staff in this school, since ''school'' has helped me to become a more educated person; not purely knowledge-based, but life-related as well. Moreover, the school has inspired and motivated me to always try my hardest, and work towards the things I want to achieve. And, for this reason, I would like to return the favour, and help the school in becoming more recognised for the great things it achieves.
My vision for the future of ''school'' is firstly, to try and make the school more powerful in its own main purpose language teaching. Due to the fact that ''school'' is a specialist languages college, and I am intrigued by languages, I believe we can make the pupils in ''school'' stronger in that area. One way we can achieve this, is by closely monitoring the younger pupils’ progress on various different language-learning areas, such as in the classroom but also online (Rosetta Stone). Using the information gathered, the prefect team can set up targets for the students and also give rewards (such as vouchers), so that the pupils know what they should aim for, but are also motivated to do it.
In addition, another target that I would be glad and proud to achieve is to make every student, from any race feel welcome and loved at ''school''. This is because I truly dislike inequality and any form of discrimination and I also feel really sad when someone makes a racist joke towards another person. I do not want to circumvent this issue, but rather tackle it by making students and teachers aware of this issue, and carrying out interactive activities (workshops) with students from the younger years.
By applying for the position of Senior Prefect, I am looking to acquire responsibilities of level which I have never had at this school, and so to constantly challenge myself to a higher level is what brings one true joy, as it not only teaches me how to lead to a higher standard, but also gives me experience which I will treasure in the future.

Yours Sincerely

This is good, I am also applying for the post of prefect in my school and I am currently in Year 10. I think that you should include your personal skills and qualities in there that would be needed in a prefect, and also some past experiences that would help you in this role.
