E = V - Ir

E + Ir = V

Ir = V - E

r = V - E/I

Anyone else confirms on this one?

Reply 2

Just rearrange?

E = V -Ir

E - V = -Ir

(E - V) / -I = r

r = (V -E) / I

That's OK. Everyone gets a bit nervous when it's exam time :smile:

Isn't it E = V +ir?

Reply 6

It's V=E-IR, so yeh E=V+IR

Reply 7

so the final equation should be

r = (E-V) / I

what about to find current I?

Hi Ginger_J,

Welcome to TSR. :smile:
This thread had been a pretty old thread and if you have any new question, I would recommend that you start a fresh thread and explain your question and confusion.

As for your question of finding current, it is just simple manipulation of the expression.

Current = (E-V)/r
