What's the best way of getting rid of body hair?

I've only tried shaving but don't really like it because I cut myself several times. What are the alternatives? I mean like GOOD alternatives.

I asked my mum about hair removal cream but she's concerned about allergy (i've got really sensitive skin). Has anyone tried hair removal cream of any kind? Is it 'safe'?

And about waxing, is it painful? Does it like break the hairs or does it just pull them out completely from the roots?

Any suggestion or advice appreciated  Really need some help!

Some of the girls in our house were messing round with leg hair the other week, epolating and waxing, i was forced to try both and i thought epolating was a lot more painful and less effective.... Waxing wasnt particularly comfortable but at least you get to see the yield!

Looks a bit stupid with just a small strip taken out each leg though!

try out the hair removal cream on somewhere unnoticable to check if you're allergic to it - your thigh can be a good place.

Thud's tip of the week: don't try and cut underarm hair with nail scissors.

dude, what exfoliating cream do you use?
I like Nivea Visage for Men I find it makes my skin more supple and younger looking...it tides me over while I earn enough money to be able to afford botox injections

I thought the thread title read 'What's the best way of getting rid of body?'

That's how it looks! :p:

I did wonder that The Student Room had become a little over comprehensive!

lol !!
I wax and shave... for long term wax, it hurts but you don't have to do it as often and it pulls the entire hair out from the root. Plus the longer you wax the less hair grows back so eventually you may be nearly hairless in that area.

haha exfoliation is needed to get any ingrown hairs out!

WAXING IS THE BEST WAY EVER. it hurts at first, esp. the first time you do it after shaving continuously because shaving causes your hairs to get thicker. but after the first few times, it's not big deal at all. depending on how much you do on your body and whether you have a friend help you, go to a place to get it done, or if you do it yourself, be prepared to spend some considerable time....like 1-2 hours. but it feels sooo good. (i have waxing parties all the time) lol. but it may seem like the waxing isn't actually pulling the hair from the root because some will grow back faster, but that is because some of the hairs that weren't long enough to pull out the first time have grown out and so it just takes a few cycles.

DON'T EVER EVER SHAVE!!! WASTE OF LIFE!!!

professional waxing, because they know how to do it right for the best results

i also find that waxing doesnt give me as many in grown hairs as shaving seems to sometimes do

down side? your leg hair has to regrow to a certain point before it can be waxed (same with armpit), so not always practical (esp. in the summer) so then i refer back to my trusty shaver until i can let the hair grow back so i can wax again

laser hair removal? more expensive - bt saves u money in the long run frm havin 2 pay 4 salon waxes/wax strips/shavers (venus blades r like 7 pound a pop!)
Why dont you invest in a permenant hair removal system that can be used at home for instance you buy those E-pen electroloysis system apparently it is quite effective and it painlessly removes unwanted hair and you can do in the confort of your own home. its very effective and it can be used to remove hair from the bikini line and upper lip. personally am thinking of buying this product as waxing is quite expensive and it hurts and shaviing is useless as hair just comes back after 2 days. so it think overall permanent hair removal is easiest to use and painfree..

electroloysis is not pain free!!!!
I have heard freeze-drying is very effective. If that is too expensive for you, why not try covering up: wear an al-in-one, for example. I'm sure you'd look the better for it.
