    I am not a fan.
I think his writing is distinctly average, and has little skill or merit to be held in such high regard.

I'm not with you, but I agree his language is seriously annoying and it drives me mad trying to figure out what he's on about

Have you read many of his contemporaries?

He is superior. I personally love his work and am looking forward to studying him all next term. Yippee!! Shakespeare term = summer, shakespeare, punting, strawberries. Living the dream

Shakespeare's superb! And the plays are NOT boring! Ever studied Macbeth? Or Hamlet? Murder, passion, intrigue, what more could you possibly want?

Well, his bi-sexual tendencies have been put forward, argued and refuted or upheld by many. He probably did has a fling or two with some other actors - in fact, many of his sonnets are said to have been written to a man/men.

I know you won't like me saying this, but... I can only assume that you haven't fully understood/appreciated his work. How anyone cannot recognise his amazing intellect, his skill in versification, his enormous lexicon and his ability to incite emotion and portray the true nature of the human condition is beyond me.

Indeed he was a bit gay, it has been proven... well sort of.
