It sounds like that girl has some kind of pathetic problem with you (it's usually jeallously - trust me!!) If it were me I would take a friend - then you're not alone in case they give you the cold shoulder - but you might find that when you get there you really enjoy it, and her problem with you is insignificant if you have a good time with everyone else. How does that sound?

in that case i too would advise you to take a friend along if you feel uncomfortable, but i find that when people behave how the girl was to you they are totally normal in a group situation... so hopefully you'll have a nice evening

you could get your friend to meet you there later, so you go a bit before and then he/she meets you after 6
