1 + 1/2rootx + 1/2rootx + (1/2rootx*1/2rootx)

1 + rootx + 1/4x <-- I think this is right.

roots cancel

(1 + 1/2rootx)(1 + 1/2rootx) = 1 + 1/2rootx + 1/2rootx + (1/2rootx*1/2rootx)
= 1 + 2/2rootx + (1/2rootx*1/2rootx)
= 1 + 1/rootx + 1/4x
