Right, I want one and I want one now. Does anyone have any experiences with the new model, and what storage capacity.

Also, is the Itunes software any good, and where do you guys download all your music from?

Thanks...Wiffmaster

I've got one, a 20gb (cos it came with free remote, charging dock and carry case ). To be honest had a few problems with it at first, but sent it back to Apple and seems to be fine now. Download albums from suprnova.org (via bittorrent) and individual tracks using Soul Seek. iTunes is good once you get used to it, although it does have some annoying features (like the way you change track titles and stuff), but good overall.

I have an iPod, and overall I'm pretty happy. It works well, holds alot of music, and even though I've dropped it a couple of times its not broken! The battery life sucks though, which is my only complaint.

One question for anyone who knows, though: I bought some tracks off of iTunes, but whenever I try to put them on my iPod they don't transfer. Has anyone else had this problem, or know a solution to it?

Somebody with 20GB of music. I have more than that, and I never know what I'm going to want to listen to, so being able to have as much of it on me at once is extremely convenient.

Well, you do but most people are casual listeners and will just want to listen to the odd album or something.

Stupid question i know, but if you download things of Piolet and Kazaa, etc, can you still transfer them to the ipod, or can you only transfer your own albums and songs bought of Itunes. Thanks. Oh, and what's the problem with renaming tracks in Itunes?

My good old turntbale is staying with me yet, however I admit carrying two mono valve amps on a bus and a huge heavy turntbable is not exactly practical.

To me IPODs are very expensive considering how bad they sound and the problems they have with their batteries.

You'd have to recharge the battery about a million times to listen to all the songs on it!

Get a md. You can still use it for mps but the battery (i have a sony netmd) lasts for ages. I use it for about 5 hours a week and charge it at weekends though it lasts longer than that - i used it on the way 2 london once (3 hours) and then walked around london for a couple of hours and then came back and listened to it on the train on the way home as well.. so that's about 12 hours without running out.!

Got a MD, but an early one, so it's not NetMD. Just too much trouble carrying aroung 100s of discs, like to have all songs on one machine, all organised and updates as soon as you put it into the dock, so an Ipod would be much easier.

I do most my listening on my HIFI system at home, I do however have a cheapo £50 portable Panasonic CD player but I don't use it much, I have to actually study the music while I am listening to it, its not background stuff for me. In fact I loath background music although I like music in bars/pubs.

It depends I am an audiophile and vinyl junkee so I am highly biased. Most MP3s sound utter crap, most MP3 playing equipment sounds woeful however do the rip properly at a high bit rate and play it through a good sound card (none of your creative labs crap 5 channel crap) and they can sound as good CD.
