I'm hoping to apply for occupational therapy through clearing. I know that even though it is in clearing I still have go to an interview. So, practically how does it work? There are three potential universities that I could go to so if I call one of them first and they offer me an interview what happens if I'm unsuccessful at the interview? Could I call all three institutions and interview at all of them to increase my chances?

Any advice you have would be brilliant.

You phone the Unis, one makes you an Offer you like, you enter this (and only this) on Track. The Uni will then receive a copy of your application/PS. If they decide to interview (they may not for Clearing places) they will only enter their final decision after that has happened. If they reject you, you then get back on the phone and start again. By which time many Clearing courses will be full.

This strung-out process (with no guarantee of a place) is one of the reasons many people dont do Clearing - and instead decide to retake or reapply for the next intake. You then get the pick of all available courses, get the opportunity to go to relevant Open Days/look around, dont have the panic of then finding somewhere to live at the last minute and generally dont have all this stress. Recommended.

Which Universities are you applying too?

I am looking at UWE and currently their clearing process involves emailing your details and waiting, as its the early stages of clearing!

Thanks I thought this might be the case. I'm a mature student so I'm not waiting on any exam results. I was originally intending to apply for 2014 but I went to the open days at the end of June and several of them said they were going into clearing so it was worth trying for this year.

Anything within reasonable travelling distance of Manchester, either by train or car. I have a house so moving for uni isn't really an option. I'll go and have a look on the websites and see if there is anything similar, thank you.

Hello, I'm going through clearance for adult nursing and have given my details to two universities, if one of them offers me an interview do I put it on my Ucas? Or leave it until they officially give me an offer?

    Many thanks
