I recently had an interview for a receptionist role for the health and well being department. I had a 20 minute interview and a 10 minute intray exercise where i was given a paper and had tasks listed on it and had to say from 1-4 what my priority would be, why in that order and what action i would take.
Can i ask what you would have said, i put down,
- Student calling to cancel counseling session at 10am
I put this down as number 4 as its at 10 the appointment i would email the counselor about 15 minutes before to say student cancelled and would ask the student if they wanted to re-arrange and if yes would tell the counselor and reply back to student with suitable dates and times.
- 35 exam medical forms attached sent to your inbox required for today's 9.30 exam
I put this as number 3 as its for 9.30 would print it off and send to relevant department (didnt know what else to put down)
- Counselor can't make work today as he is ill and has a full diary of appointment first one at 9am
I put this as number 2 because the first appointment was at 9- I would open the bookings and look at the appointment and send an email to the students to say appointments would be cancelled for today and will ask if they would like to re-arrange and i would get back to them once the counselor is back at work
- Student crying in reception about another student
I put this as number 1 i would ask them what the problem was and call to see if one of the counselors were available to talk to the student.
Could you help and say what you would have put down and what action you would take as this was the first time i did the exercise.
