Hi i'm planning to apply for medicine in September/October 2013 but I have next to nothing hospital experience. This worries me because i'm afraid that because of this disadvantage in comparison to other medicine applicants I will be rejected. By the way I've tried every thing so far to try and get experience/volunteer ( emailed , posted letters , called in , visited ) but it's always 'your too young' , ' we only take applicants from this borough' , 'we have no more places' and i'm getting seriously worried now:confused:. My question is basically if anyone knows of any alternatives I can try or any hospitals that are still taking Work experience students in London, It would be great help

Forget hospitals. Try a hospice or a nursing home.

You might want to start this again in Medicine to get more responses, this is the legal forum.

I applied last year with absolutely no hospital experience and still got 4 interviews. You just need some experience in a care home or hospice like the person above said. most universities understand that its really hard to get hospital work experience.

Thanks but I currently work in a Nursing home but I just feel like I need to work in a hospital also, since most medicine applicants would've worked in hospitals
