# c3 modulus watch

1. how to sketch this one :

|x|^2 - 2|x|
2. Not sure whether it's right, but you could factorise it:

y = |x|^2 - 2|x|
y = |x| (|x| - 2)

Then draw y = x , modulate it, shift it 2 to the right.
However, I'm not sure how to stretch by |x|, so maybe that mathod doesn't work.....

How about doing a table of values?

x -3 -2 -1 0 1 2 3
|x| 3 2 1 0 1 2 3
|x|^2 - 2|x| 3 0 -1 0 -1 0 3

Maybe there's an easier way of doing it, but you can never go wrong with a table of values
3. Lol, just realised. Just do y = x^2 - 2x, then reflect the right hand side in the line x=0. D'oh, i hate modulus.
4. |x|^2 = x^2
x>= 0 equaton is
x^2 - 2x

x<0
x^2 + 2x
