Why does the TV show Take Me Out never have all males on the buzzers and female contestants?

Is it because it would be decried as sexist and denigrating of women? Does it being acceptable the other way round highlight double standards in society?

Boys can take banter.. If there was a all male version, we'd be knee deep in raindrops and PC bull****.

I've always thought they should do what they used to do on blind date

PART ONE: All Female Contestants, Male decides
PART TWO: Catch up with a previous couple
PART THREE: All Male Contestants, Female decides
PART FOUR: As Part Two

It could work!

agreed

you are a legend

that way there could be no allegations of sexism

also change presenter to someone else eg Nick Hewer

Yes, is the short answer to your question. I find that a straight comparison of Take Me Out with the seminal, simple and vastly superior Blind Date shows exactly what ills our society has developed in the intervening years.

Lol are you serious? I love Nick and find him hilarious, but his type of humor definitely wouldn't fit in with the show.

Just don't get Karren Brady to host it.

"This is degrading to women! They should not be forced into going onto these shows to make ends meet."

Because unless the girl was gorgeous, none of the guys would want to go with her.

This always puzzled me as well, it'd be quite interesting for a women to get judged & everything. Anyway I just see the show as people having a bit of fun really & trying to get their moment of fame.

Because it would suck. It only works because the dynamics of dating work that way. The guy has to impress the girl hence why he has to do skills and talk about himself to try to get the girls to keep their lights on. The opposite would just be sad with all the lights on all the time, or nasty where all the lights go off before the girl gets a chance.

Male female dating role are not interchangeable, we have pretty defined gender etiquette.

Is it not already derogatory? They line up provocatively dressed, heavy in make-up women who act ditzy. And at the end, the male contestant chooses a woman based on her appearance. I think it's degrading for both sexes, not just men.

The format works because women are fussier than men. Let's face it, 90% of men would shag any woman put in front of them unless they were a right dog.
