No, I don't usually work my brain for no reason. I think girls might do it more than boys, but then again it is a generalisation.
Psycho-analysis? Sure, we should all be doing it

That may we can better understand people, and know how to screw them over mentally, women certainly know how to do this, so why shouldn't us men do the same

i feel as though i don't think/analyse enough usually at the time, and sometimes too much after - if the thing was significant...though on the whole not really..

I do actually - maybe not as deep as you but i definately try to work people out especially relationships and friendships. It's probably a good thing although i also have the tendency to completely over-analyse after an argument or something but i think that's a girl -thing.

I think you're reading too much into it.

Mental thinking? As opposed to spinal thinking? Or perhaps consider visuallly looking.

Hehe, you stole my idea for a sarc-y reply! :p:

I think everyone analyses people - it's just that a lot of people probably do it subconsciously.
No recognition. Don't know why I bother.

To all out there,
Do you constantly and naturally analyse the people around you, e.g. I went into a clothes shop and saw my friend and his g/f, while I was talking to her, I couldn’t help but analyse her and my friend.
I Believe she likes my friend more than he likes her, their relationship seemed to be built on consumate love, easier to establish, than to maintain.
Does anyone else have a similar thinking style please share experiences if possible?

I do that...my mind is passively analytical...i analyse my surroundings subconciously...

That combined with my 'talent' for music forces me to analyse any music i am listening to...i start to pull it apart and pick out various instruments and techniques...It is rather irritating...

yea i do that too but i want to do it, analysing the things around me makes life more interesting.
