last night he told me that he loved me

How long have you been together?

Do you play guitar or the piano?

I'd start with lyrics. Go somewhere you love, somewhere quiet, or somewhere that provides you with inspiration so you can gather your thoughts. Then just write down anything you're feeling.

when you've got stuff you're happy with, mess around with some music until something fits.

alternatively, with a letter you can just be completely honest. tell him how you feel, how he makes you feel, what you love about him. that kinda thing. whatever you feel most comfortable with when expressing yourself

agree..much better than writing a **** one, which he might drop a bomb on his romantic fantasies/hopes...then again, even a **** one could be sweet & if its "from the heart" then he'd be able to feel the..ahem love..

we have only been together for a month but he is really into music, he plays the guitar so i might be better with the letter cos i can't write songs.

he may appreciate a song more then since he's so into music. even if its crap, it shows that you've made the effort.

Instead of plagiarising one (i assume the ppl above mean trying to pass off someone else's song as your own - which i hope was a joke!) why don't you look for a song which encapsulates your feelings for him and play that to him. There are plenty of good, emotional love songs out there, and i'm sure you could find one that depicted your feelings. Also, if you did plagiarise a song and he found out that could upset him, and if you can't play an instrument/sing this way you won't have to and will therefore save embarassment.

how can i tell if its a good song tho? i cnt sing so i dnt know wot words go together....so confusing but i really want to do this for him
Light me up cos the night is only halfway through
I'd love to make some trouble with you
Flip my switch now smack my lips let's go
I got a fuse that's abused and I'm ready to blo-ho-ho

I know, I know, I know...
Slip and fall into anticipation
A twisted fascination

Over my head cos you're outta yo' mind
You got me electrified
Every little thing in overtime
You got me electrified
Awww...SHOCK ME!

You're welcome
to be honest...if hes asking you for one then dont. its going to be forced and hes going to expect it.

wow, i can see this couple going far...

"I want a love letter NOW!" becomes "I want you to be my wife NOW!" which becomes "Give my babies NOW!"

honestly I don't think it matters what the hell you write, he probably finds bulldog doo doo beautiful and artistic (when it is lying on the pavement in its most perfect form of course)

(Sorry, had to be done.)

Hmm..maybe you should stick with what you're good at. If you really can't write a song, why not draw him something, write him a letter/poem or make him a present. Just because he's musical, it doesn't mean you have to pretend to be musical and it doesn't mean he won't appreciate something unmusical, in fact he might even appreciate it more if it's something he's not as talented at himself.

Other than that, just...relax. Be spontaneous. Don't force romantic gestures or they'll quickly become predictable and cheesy.

Lmao i love that word!

To the OP write from the heart, I used to write poetry. Write how you feel, it's the nicest way to tell someone how you feel. If only my bf was interested in it lol! Ah well... you get what you pay for lmao!
