I'm fairly confident with esters, it's just I'm not sure about my answer to one of the practice questions I did. The question is: what is the formula of ethyl butanoate (i.e. the combination of ethanol and butanoic acid)? I got C3H7COOC2H5 (with all the numbers being little), and I was wondering if someone would mind trying it and seeing if they got the same answer? Thanks

for ethyl butanoate i get, C3H7COOC2H5 as well

o god i wouldnt have a clue if that came up, i havnt learnt it, which sylabus are you on?

Edexcel - but I do triple award science (higher tier) so if you do the dual award/another exam board then it might not be in the specification. Also I do linear, not modular (if that makes a difference...)

Oh and thanks w41337, glad you got the same!
