Yes it's ridiculously competitive. I've had many friends who have gone into clinical sciences with the hope of transferring to medicine and have just never been able to because it's so competitive.

Topping the year at uni/being in the top 10-25% is a LOT tougher at uni than it is at school, which is what you need to be able to transfer.

If you really wanted to do medicine it would be worth it to wait, retake exams and apply again! Well that's what I would recommend anyway
