It all depends on what you want to do, but Leeds is the most-applied to in Britain:

i think it entirely depends on the subject and the course structure...however over all..

1. Cambridge
2. Oxford
3. Nottingham
4. London Universities
5. Manchester

its a pity you can't apply to both Cambridge and Oxford!

browse a bit, the same site mentionz LSE as 3 n IMPERIAL as 7 for best marks for teaching, IMPERIAL as 1 in BEST student/staff ratio, LSE 2 n IMPERIAL 4 for BEST IN REASEARCH, overall best uni LSE 3 n IMPERIAL 4... plus LSE 1 n IMPERIAL 2 in LONDON... adding to this, TIMEz n GUARDIANz third n fourth rankz belong to LSE n IMPERIAL... n IMPERIAL even beat Oxford to be on no.2 in 2001 (TIMEz Guide 2001)... so now who cumz on top...

lol one of the funniest things I've ever seen on this site, trying to rank the likes of LSE and imperial below Nottingham. Not a chance dude. And you can't really group the London colleges together unless you mean just lse and imperial. For example there are some like Goldsmiths that can't really comapre at all to the lse n imperial.

Leeds is the most applied to nearly every year and Nottingham's a close second, so I guess you'd have to say that they are the most popular
