well it was pretty alrite. i got completely confused with the minimum point so messed up there. also couldnt find the value of k with the gradiest parellel to the line question. and also messed up the ln(x+k) graph. also dint put the -ve sign in front of the sine so that is probably wrong. rest of the paper i am sure got everything right. so expecting a low A or a high B. will have to work really hard to get full marks in c4 coz also messed up my s2 paper.

    radians .. and itll give u 0.2774
i mean do it in degrees and you wont get that ..
and they are helping u when they say in the next part that k was 0.277 ..

for people who are saying -1.64 is wrong well its not true ..
they said write the rate of temperature change in degrees/minute ..
soo writing it decreased at 1.64 degrees/min or -1.64 degrees/min is the same ..
i mean this is not an english exam .. it is maths for crying out loud ..
they wont have in the markscheme .. deduct one mark if answer is not a sentence ..
lol .. i guess someone would come up and say they might take of a mark for punctuation ..
    haha ..
it was a pretty hard exam .. had trouble with question 5 ...
and in the first question they asked to write the answer as a single fraction in its simpilified form ..
3x-1 / x was a single fraction and cant be simplified further ..
got to go study for C4 hope all the luck for everyone ..
someone please tell me if am wrong here and explain why .. please

Did you sub x into y, instead of dy/dx?

Needs to go into dy/dx, as its not a root, its a turning point.

you got the answer right they will probably be instructed to give full marks with or without a minus sign providing you have full correct working out as the answer is actually negative

well its not wrong to call it a root ..
cuz the value of x that we get is a ROOT for the equation f'(x)
soo it is considered a root ..
    or a turning point of f(x) ..

No it specfically mentioned decrease somewhere which why I went extra trouble of writing a sentence, although you didnt even have to write one decrease=1.64 c/min would have been fine also.

The minus thing I think you would probably get away with if you just had Dt/dt at t=50 = -1.64 C/min , similar thing comes up in M2 with Energy loss and quite few markschemes just state "ignore signs".

What you could not write, however, is that the temperature decreased at -1.64C per min.

in fact i changed my mind they wont give you the mark -1 from your overall total now go and study extra hard C4 to mark up for the minus mark.

in general when marking your own paper assume the worst !! eg in this case you only got 3 out of 4 !!!
