Could someone tell me, if you get a job while at Uni, do they let you go home for the holidays? If accommodation was only on a medium lease it would be difficult to find somewhere to stay during the holidays...I just wondered how the whole thing worked.
Thanks in advance

The tricky thing is getting employed in the first place. It took me a whole year to find a job off-campus that would take me because of being a student on limited accommodation contracts. The only instance in which it might be easier would be if you work somewhere like Next or Sainsbury's already where they might be able to transfer you. Getting employed in retail when you're living in two different places each year is extremely difficult, please don't be under any illusions about this.

Greggs is always a good bet, they are so desperate for staff they'll take on anyone and transfer you quite easily. But as Angelil said getting a decent job is quite hard, they get snapped up quickly and you may need to stick around for easter etc.

I was offered a job at the end of my first year, in the “political sector”, and have been there ever since.
I work about 19 hours a week (paid) but I probably do 25+ hours most weeks.
