Well I made this thread as I am going to be doing all of the As Biology content in the summer holidays as I am picking up both As & A2 Biology in 1 year in year 13.
I made this as I thought anyone in this same position or yet to do Bio1 can share their ideas and work together and prepare for the Bio1 exam.
I have provided some links below that can help you with revision and learning the content, most of it is just for AQA but there is the odd link where the stuff on there overlaps to another specification. This shouldn't be an issue .
1. Describe how Phospholipids are arranged in a plasma membrane (2 marks)
b. The role played by the RER in production of the enzyme (2 marks) c. The role played by the Golgi Apparatus in secretion of the enzyme (1 mark)
2. Outline 2 factors which are classed as a risk factor for CHD (2 marks) b. Some cardiac tissues dies and this leads to Myocardial infarction explain how this happens (3 marks)

4 a. use the diagram of the kidney epithelium cell to suggest 2 features which are required for absorption of glucose (2 marks) ii) Explain how they increase absorption of glucose (2 marks)
b) How does absorption of glucose increase uptake of water into the cell (2 marks)
5 a. look at the graphs regarding the dogs blood flow into aorta and pressure changes in ventricles to explain the link between these 2. (something on those lines) (2 marks)
b. Use the graph. The effect of thickness of muscle cell on pressure (2 marks)

b. Why are loads of different antibodies produced (something like that) (2 marks)
c. Something about only 4% of people had ongoing hooping cough how did the scientist's arrive at this conclusion (3 marks)

Hi! I remember you from the medicine and chemistry forums! Well I just finished AS Biology, but there's a huge possibility I will be retaking BIOL1 in Year 13 so I'm definitely subscribing to this thread! :P Also, you might want to add a date of the exam to the title - It's 21st May 2014 AM
