im sure it will be fine. I got an E in the february Othello/blak exam so i cant do to much worse!Iv given up worying now becasue we cant gues what will come up and it is stupid the amount they want us to remeber with Othello AND blake so i gues im gna watch big brother go to bed then wake up and give it a go!??the relaxed feeling is muchmore fun than the stressed one i had an hour ago!!evry1 should join in!!

How much emphasis do we need to put on quoting critics? We did a few critical approaches but our teacher never mentioned quoting directly. :s

So glad the exam is in the afternoon, I seem to have misplaced my Blake anthology too...

Reply 64

Critical awareness is important for othello, but not for blake- well thats what i've been taught anyway

Reply 65

Ok, so more emphasis on critics for Othello, and more contextual info for Blake, excellent!

Precisely.

I so desperately want it to be about Emilia, she's easily the best character to talk about...after Iago!

Just a quickie, one of my teachers said we are allowed to staple additional pages to our copy of the text to rtake into the exam with us, the other said we can only write note on the side of the text, with no additional pages, can anyone clarify which is correct as I don't want to be disqualified from the exam, but equally don't want to miss out on the opportunity to go in to it more so prepared with extra notes.

Oh and good luck everyone

Reply 70

We've been told for edexcel no additional pages, just in the copy, and no full sentences just notes. Check the specfication on the exam board website though it should say.

Reply 71

Thanks, with Edexcel too, I'm ****ed then, I have all my blank pages full with notes in sentence form!!!! Will the books be checked?!

Reply 72

i dunno but i got critics quotes...but i wont make it obvious when im wirting

Reply 73

Depends how strict they are at your school. we've been warned and they'll probably do a random few on the day - if they find it before hand u wont be disqualified, just wont be allowed to take it in. And if u get really unlucky and someone comes from the board they might, but that really is rare.

We've just been encouraged not to make many notes at all- do essays from blank copies to not waste time.

Not that mine hasn't got quite a few notes in lol.

Reply 74

Does anyone have any more detailed notes/quote from critics than those already in this thread?

Reply 75

Good grief those questions were vile.

Reply 76

If your talking about edexcel, then I thought the questions were gifts.

Reply 77

I am talking about Edexcel, and I thought they were horrible

Reply 78

Im doing edexcel english too

Reply 79

I did the first question. I'm just not a big fan of theme questions, it's so ambiguous you could just rabbit on about anything.. but maybe that's a good thing! The more I think about it, I think maybe I did ok. The other question I did (Duffy) was a godsend so that should help
