It is a fairly low priority request, as the TeX system is not bad, but it would be nice if at least the Maths forum could be fully LaTeX-integrated because TeX can be a little clumsy at times.

Could we have an online equivalent of MathType/EqnEditor? That would be worthwhile IMO.

Okay, brace yourselves: this took me 10 minutes to make and looks really bad, but its the only way to explain the idea.

i.e. why don't you nestle in the skyscraper ad so there's less whitespace?

It's a fair idea, but to be honest I think I would prefer to have ads all down the side, because if you nestle it in it's going to look kind of clumsy and awkward IMO

This site is nearly as bad as the sky news website :\

I think the clumsiness is more down to my crappy Fireworks skills. But I'd much rather have that nested layout than all this useless white space.

maybe something like providing advertising materials (fliers etc), to people at unis, so they can hand them out, put them about and stuff around the campus, get more people onto the site etc. Maybe even have official representatives of each uni, sort of like a spokesperson around the uni, and the person to come to first when asking questions about a particular uni.
That would be very nice and helpful. A US website (http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/ ) for college discussions has Representatives (Admission Officers) from a multitude of colleges in the US. Such a feature would be highly convenient on TSR.

Oh I'm not fussed about Bad Threads...I was kind of playing Devil's Advocate, that's all

But how about this for an idea: wouldn't it be great if you could buy a modship?
:p: sorry, had to be said
You could ebay them for a twelve month term with a few modships coming up each month. Wouldn't that be exciting; and would root out the real mod wanabees :p:

    Hmm,

Pornnnnnnnnnnn, that would make me come back more often

    OK I will shut up.

Could you provide a listing to the other sites in your portfolio. Ive heard that Coursework.info is part of the TSR chain/empire, and also TSRUSA is, but nothing else, is that it?

I dont really agree with sky scraper ads. Possibly more effective advertising could be found by asking us a few questions when we join, interests for example (I do not want a nokia)

Also an effective calender system, I have yet to find one thats good at reminding me through my email.

Some kind of system for alerting people to reply to a thread, instead of PM ing them

The search system is quite crap to put it bluntly (when DOES it work)

Is there any image I can use that advertises TSR. I havent yet seen a TSR banner.

I have a simple suggestion which I'm sure would improve everyone's TSR experience.

I would like to suggest the ability to go to the "Last Unread Post" on every thread in a forum. Now, from a main forum page, you can either go to the first 5 pages or the last page - I'd like the ability to go to the page where my last unread post is, and have the screen scrolled down to that first unread post. There could perhaps be an additional row of small buttons for this.

    Please consider this request.

    There already is that feature

See the little downward-pointing arrow on the left of the thread title - click that, and it'll take you to the first unread post

And, at the very top of every page in a thread, just beneath the "Post Reply" button is a link that says "View First Unread"

That only works on the page you're currently viewing - it won't take you back a few pages if you've missed them.

In that instance, click on the icon in the forum view (mentioned above), which will go to the first unread post you've made in the thread.

However, if you open the thread on page 1 and want to go to the first unread post, on say, page 48, you can click the "View First Unread" link at the top of the thread and it will take you there. But not if you opened the thread on p49

Sorry for being a ditz but what is/are Bad Threads?
    are .

They're threads that the mods. in their great wisdom, higher knowledge and supernatural powers deem to be unsuitable/illegal for TSR - like advertising threads, sex tip threads, flaming threads etc.

Rather than delete them and change the number of posts made on the site, they move them to the Bad Threads area which only they can see. *evil cackle*
It's also used if the mods. want to look back over a user's history - why they got warning points for a particular thread/if it's happened before etc.

Thanks Thomas! I never knew it existed...it'll cut down searching time tremendously!
