Wardley House *gulp*

Hi everybody!

I'm a fresher at Bradford uni and I was looking for accommodation. First idea was The Green but it's a bit pricey... and I've heard some not-that-great rumors about it... ( haven't been there so I don't really know..aaaand that's why I'm asking you guys!) then I found out about Arkwright and Malik and again rumors... so I was thinking of Wardley. What do you know about it? Is it any good or I should be worried about mice and flood?  *HEEEELP!!*

My friend's stayed at Wardley House last year and whilst they thought it was okay, they did get an infestation of ants...whether everybody in Wardley got this I'm not sure though. My friends are moving into Malik with me this year as they didn't want another year at Wardley.

To be fair, not every accommodation is going to be perfect for everyone, so you're always going to hear rumours, you just have to decide whats best suited towards you. If really really cheap is what you are looking for, go towards Laisteridge Lane, if somewhere really modern and brand new is what you're after, go to the green. I've opted for something in the middle with Malik...it's quite cheap at around £79 a week (same as Wardley I believe) but has just been refurbished and modernised so it suits me nicely.

Hi all

The Green is the University's own student village right at the heart of the city campus and it was recently voted the Best Student Accommodation in the UK. It has a great community feel to it and the Green Ambassadors make sure that everyone gets stuck in and involved in life on campus, with inter-hall competitions, events and activities right the way through the year.

An intro to the Green is here:

And our accommodation website is here: http://www.bradford.ac.uk/accommodation

im looking at wardley myself. i dont know much about the place though. ? any good?

lived at forsters last year. was good want to stay somewhere different....
From talking to existing students and some of the other forums on here I've gone for the green. it's only £10-15 more expensive plus it's right on campus, surrounded by other townhouses and apparently. Plenty of open days attended so seen the room itself and there's tons of storage.

what about wardley?
Heard mixed things about all the places (as we're all bound to). Totally depends on their personal experience.
It appears to have smaller numbers per shared space, be cheaper and have similar storage and sleep/work space.
At the end of the day we're all looking for somewhere affordable yet comfy where we're not gonna get eaten by bugs or catch some horrible disease.
The green, wardley and sun bridge all look good to me. I've just played it safe with the green. Rather spend that extra tenner a week on it.

The greens is a good place to live. I had a few friends live there last year. Its been around for two years so is still new and more modern than most. Right on campus which is good and close to all local shops takeaways and grocery stores.

Sunbridge is top class new for this year so wont really gamble with that. But greens is a good place you will like it. A lot of events parties etc going on there which is good for socialising etc as well.

Room wise, its standard id say. But everyone has their own personal choice to what is standard and luxury, but id still say its slightly expensive for what you get. sunbridge is top class for the same price, bigger studio flats aswell but due to it being a first year on the market, would let other people try and test the water lol.

Hmm wardley has strip club next door or on top so you can hear that all night long. thats what ive heard ! but rumours aint facts !
