So much on this to learn..does anybody know an easy way to remember the reactions and colour changes of transition metals with ammonia, HCl etc..or a website that has it all nicely summarised?

There is actually a pretty good trend with them if I remember, like, each individual TM goes to the same colour when added with HCL or different stuff, other than a few exceptions of course..

I dont think there are any short cuts to trying to remember them....dammit!

theres a nice revision worksheet/booklet here : http://users.argonet.co.uk/users/hoptonj/sci.htm i found it quite useful, i took the exam in jan and found it quite hard and only got a B (my first)
