Hi there, I'm a student from Malaysia who just got his AS Level results. I got 3As in Maths, Chemistry and Economics and got a forecast result of A*AA. I'd like to study Economics at university level and my main targets are possible UCL or Warwick. Thing is, these universities are asking for A*AA at A2 with a further pass in another AS. Does this mean that I don't qualify because I only have 3 AS and not a fourth? Should I still apply?

you could apply, the As arn't as important or you could sit a 4th As alongside your A2

If they have a "hard" requirement for a fourth AS, speak to your sixthform about taking another AS alongside your A2s. Given you are doing maths, further maths might be a less time consuming choice.

If this is not possible, it may still be worth contacting the universities. They may suggest you apply anyway, but you may get a slightly higher offer of, say A*A*A.

If you decide not to do a fourth AS, then it may be better to only apply to one of these universities, as your chances of rejection will be higher. In the UK, doing 4 AS and dropping one, then doing 3 A2 is very common, so most candidates will meet the requirements,

I'd just pick up an AS to be peeeeeerfectly honest, perhaps something a bit easier?

You could do A level critical thinking and general studies are considered fine for the extra AS you need. You don't need to do much work for these. Although if you don't take one of these next year you'll be further at a disadvantage as many people in England do both 4 AS's and one or the other.

    Contact them

Since you are an international students the requirements may be different - especially if is the norm to only do 3 AS courses in your school
