    Hi guys.

I'm a mature student and left school with just GCSE's. I didnt do any A Levels or uni.

I want to become a Maths teacher but I'm geting blinded by the amount of info there is.

Firstly, I will either have to do A Levels or an access course. Assuming the access course is shorter, I would rather do that. But where can I do it in the South Manchester area?

Does the access course have to be Maths related?

    Cheers

Hi Inchy, and welcome to TSR!

To teach maths, you need to study maths at university (or a similar numerate subject, such as physics), and then follow that with a PGCE, Teach First or School Direct.

As for Access Courses, they are probably the best route for you as they're designed for adults returning to education. Manchester College offers a variety of them, as does Trafford College, Cheadle & Marple Sixth Form, Stockport College and a few more besides https://ava.accesstohe.ac.uk/SubSite...ster&radius=15
