I am about to go into my second year in photography at Leeds, although I enjoy the course I have found the city to be quite limiting and there are very little job opportunities for me. I would like to transfer to Kingston either during second year or for the start of third year. I am not sure how I'd go about doing that as it is very competitive and I've already sorted my student finance and accommodation for second year. Is it possible to transfer to third year? Please can someone suggest how I can go about doing this

Most Unis wont even entertain a transfer into the Final year of any course.

For starters, the courses (topics/structure) wont be necessarily compatible. Final year work is the culmination of everything you'e already done - your 'already done' will be different to everyone elses. Also, no Uni wants to award their degree to someone who has done 2/3rds of a degree somewhere else - this has implications for their academic standards etc.

You can contact Kingston and ask - but be prepared for No. You'd be MUCH better off trying to transfer now into a 2nd year. Student finance and accommodation can still be sorted out but you would have to move fast.
