    Hi guys

    I'm moving into a 1 bed flat in 18 days, I'm starting a Master's in September.

Currently the flats energy supplier is EON but I want to switch to a different supplier. Do I have to contact the current supplier and tell them I'm switching or will my new supplier do that?

Also will a water bill be issued automatically by the water company or do I need to phone them and ask for one? I know I need to phone the council to let them know I'm a student so as such will not be paying council tax (WOOP).

These may seem like simple questions but I've never lived on my own before, and in previous houses I've only dealt with the internet/phone bill but not the utilities.

Does anyone know what EE broadband is like? It's one of the cheapest tariffs with a phone line (£214/year in total) and you get like £80 cashback on it .

Is it rented accommodation? If it is you may need permission from your landlord to change supplier. If you do change energy supplier you would be best to contact the old one yourself so that you can provide them with meter readings when you move in & don't get charged extra.
