Possibly awkward scenario: my cousin and my aunt (his mother) co-own a house.

He's confused as to which living status options he chooses on student finance... He's not living with his parents in the sense that they mean, because it's his home. But he's also not living away from home, because he's going to continue living here through university.

Any ideas on the answer to this?

Those are quite unusual circumstances so I think he'll have to contact SF direct and ask them. They'll probably pick the best fit. As his term time address and holiday address will be the same, I'd guess that he's nearer "living with parents" than he is "living away from home", but only SF could confirm.

I think the biggest problem from him claiming living away from home is the fact his mum part owns the house.

I think he's more likely to be judged "living at home" and *not* "living away from home" for that reason.

Really only SF are going to be able to rule.
