    Hi everyone!

I'm about to start my 3rd year at uni studying mechanical engineering and am looking for an internship next summer (2014). I am on the masters course and so will be doing another year of study after summer 2014.

I was wondering if it is possible, instead of getting the standard summer internship at Rolls Royce etc, to get a placement at an American engineering company. I love America and will probably live there one day so this would be a dream come true! I'm not at the top end of students on my course, I'm on track for a 2:1 and would struggle to get a first so if one needs to be in the elite group then I guess this wouldn't be conceivable.

If it is possible, where on the giant internet do I start looking?

Hope you're all having a good summer!

Hey, it might be worth contacting the Royal Academy of Engineering and asking them - they help lots of students to do placements overseas. Just give them a call, they're really nice
