What would be an equivalent route of the Grand Tour today?
We can start from London, take Eurostar to Paris, then Lucerne, south to Milan, Venice, Florence and Rome before heading north pass the Brenner Pass to Vienna/Munich, spend time in Central Europe (Prague, maybe even Poland) then back to the Benelux via Berlin and Rhine Valley, visiting Amsterdam, Bruges, Brussels before taking Eurostar back to London

Someone has beat you to it: http://goeurope.about.com/cs/tours/a/grand_tour.htm
London, Paris, Venice, Florence & Rome seems a bit lack lustre compared to that though.
