I got my olevel results cie. I got straight As, but a B in english. After doing my alevels, i wanna go to some American engineering university, probably for software engineering(got A*s in maths and phy). For that, would a B in english undermine my chances of getting an admission? Should I resit the english exam to get an A or above, or just do my Alevels as english wouldnt matter for an engineering uni?

I very much doubt the grade will count against you much as it's still really good! However, English language requirements can be very idiosyncratic from university to university and there are a wide range of qualifications that they accept, but the university webpages (for where you're considering applying) should outline what they're looking for. That'll better inform you for where to go from here.
