My first choice has given me an alternative offer, however I don't want to take it and want to accept my second choice. When I go to reply it gives me the choice of accepting my first choice or declining my choices and going to clearing. I just want to accept my second choice. I've been on hold for UCAS for 25 minutes now and I just need help.

May I ask what your grades are and what the insurance offer was?

Also out of curiousity what was the original course and the alternative that you have now been offered?

You'll have to wait until 5pm before you can decline it and therefore default to your firm.

If something goes wrong at that point then you'll have to ring UCAS.

Also worth noting you have 5 days to decide whether to accept this alternative.

I've received CCC in my A2s, C for an AS, C for Extended Project and the insurance offer is 300 UCAS points. (At UWE for Computer Science). The original was Computer Science at University of Sussex and they've changed it to Computer Science with a foundation year.

I've counted your UCAS tariff based on CCC at A2 plus the C at EPQ (stand-alone) and that generates 280 UCAS points, as such this means that you will have missed your insurance offer. Despite missing your firm they have offered the additional alterative course, so if you wish to take that up then you need to do so within the 5 day period which started when track updated.

If you decline this alternative course the insurance place is no longer there for you, so that is why it is saying that you would be in clearing.

    Does this make sense?

OK I've got off the phone with UCAS and apparently there was a technical issue with the site and it wouldn't let me accept the insurance. It's all sorted now on the phone, thank you all for the help.
