    Hello,
I am aiming to get ABB next year (Most likely with Media Studies for the A, and English Literature and History for the B's)
I got my AS Results today and managed to get the A in Media and the B in English lit but got a D in History.

This was quite unexpected since throughout the whole year I had not gotten lower than a B on any of the History practice tests and exams we did in class and I came out of the exam feeling pretty confident that I had secured myself the B I wanted. Everyone else I talked to in my history class also had not done as well as they hoped with the highest mark being a C (as far as I know)

I'm not sure where to go from here. I really don't want to retake because there are no January Exams so I'd have to retake it at the same time as my other A2 exams which would really be difficult to do. Also do you know if we have to retake both the exams we did if we do retake or if we can just re-do one of them?

Would it be worth it getting it remarked or is the fact everyone did badly an indication that we might not have been taught how to do the exam properly in the first place and it's not likely to change.

I always hear stuff about our exam board (Edexcel) being quite tough but I was never sure if that was because students wanted to blame the exam board for them getting bad marks rather than themselves...

With a remark, the grade can go down, but if you're sure that it wasn't right, then you might as well go for it, especially if the grad as it is isn't what you need and you will resit.

Resits during A2 are not ideal, but with a careful plan they're not impossible.
