i thought it went well! but i know i got the empirical formula question wrong, although i did use the right method so i should get 1 or 2 marks out of it

Was the empirical formula one Na2 S2 O3 ? Aaggh I hope so!

I think it was overall okay. The 5-mark questions on how to do stuff were difficult for me because i couldnt find 5 points.

I think I got the empirical formula question right. Its ZnP6 yeah?
thats what i got! was the first answer platinum or iron?

I got P2Zn3 in that question :frown:

yeh madwithstars that's right
the first one was platinum
ZnP6????????????

I got P2Zn3 in that question :frown:

I got Zn2P3

My friends thought it was extremley easy, and sat there for 40 mins bored!
It was definately Zn2 P3, because the ratio came out at:

0.03 : 0.02

What did people put for the Sea Floor question?
I think some people in this thread have to realise that this thread is for Co-Ordinated Chemistry, not Modular. There is a seperate thread for Modular.

this is now the modular one.

the AQA Chemistry B triple science is now here:

just ignore this one if you want to go to the other ones
i'm pretty sure the first one was platinum. a lot of people got iron but that's what you use when making ammonia. i'm so glad no titration/ moles came up! ah well only physics to worry about now!

ya, i just realize i did the empirical formula one wrong. it's definately not ZnP6. I hope i get marks for method though.

the ratio ended up being Zn 0.03 and p 0.02...so the formula was Zn3P2
Reply 16
I'm confused about this. Which was the platinum/iron catalyst question?

Zerox
the ratio ended up being Zn 0.03 and p 0.02...so the formula was Zn3P2

That is correct.

Most people think that to get an even ratio you have to get it to 6 and 6 on both sides so it would be Zn2P3 but that is wrong. Check your revision guides.
P2 Zn3 is correct...as above ratio 0.02:0.03

I didnt think it was too bad, although i got the impression they were quite lazy this year lo...several questions were repeated from previous years. O was that spectrometry ethanoic acid?

I got one mark for the steel making i think lol...Said oxygen and after that it went the shape of the pear in that questiuon lol....i think several people found it difficult so maybe there is hope for lower GB

its was zn2p3
