My firm choice didn't accept me but when I got my results I had the 280 points I needed. I rang clearing and they said they would give me an offer. But I don't know how to get rid of my insurance choice. I rang up and they said they'd get back to me but they haven't. What do I do?

Hi there, if I was you I would call them again and insist on a decision while you are on the phone. Clearing results day (today) is a very busy time for universities and they may be a while replying to you. This isn't a time to hang around so I would call them again and insist on an answer. If they ask you to hold off again, ask to speak with the head of admissions. That will make them respond fast!

    Best of luck.

Ring them again in the morning - you cannot 'get rid' of your insurance place, but your Firm changing to Unconditional will do. You could ask your Insurance to 'release' you so that you officially enter Clearing if this would make it easier to sort your Firm option, but speak to your Firm and UCAS before pursuing this route.
