Hi. Yes, It's one of these posts about the results.

I got my AS results and this what I got.

    History: B
    Geography: D
    Music Technology: C

Now, as you can see, I wasn't graced with THAT much intelligence from birth. All I can really do is Music, as in play the piano, chords, read music but my passion lays with Music Production, but as you can see I performed a lot worse than I should have done. But this is where I want to go in life. Granted, I have never done the Technology side of it before, It was all new to me.

Now that I have the experience under my belt, is it possible to push te Music result up to a B, and is it possible to push the Geography up to a C?

    Thankyou for your time.

Many people go up a grade after AS, as they are used to the new workload, and determined to work hard, so it's absolutely possible to do that, if not further.

Also, academic results really aren't everything. If you want to go into music (what area?), you shouldn't be held back by a D in geography, so long as you plan your career carefully.

BCD aren't terrible grades by any means. What were you predicted to achieve? Certainly it's possible to go up by a grade when you progress from AS to the full A2 if you work hard. Have you considered whether any retakes or remarks would be worthwhile?

Music Tech just needs time to improve, since so much of it is coursework. If you want to do music though, have you ever considered actually doing music A level? It's much better for actual music.
Either way, MT A level isn't so much about the grade as all the information you learn through doing it, like recording and mixing etc.

Hi, thankyou for the reply. I was hoping for the Music Production area - but the creative side - not the engineering side. I'm looking at UCL because they offer this type of course and they have beautiful studios - but they require BBB-BCC for entry. This is why I was asking if it was possible to nudge the grades up with unparalleled effort?

Thankyou very much for your reply.
I was predicted an A by my legend of a teacher. I'm a bit loathed to do retakes because I find it a bit of a hassle - as well as the fact I'm a bit thrifty with money. Resitting Music Tech as well will be to much work ontop of all the A2 coursework that I will be starting with the new School year.
